From2tv is a new media project that focuses on exploring and staging 2024–present the absurdities of modern human life. In the spirit of a traditional news network, the project combines cultural phenomena with hard science and data about the state of our current reality. 

The first episode explores the topic of “HEAT”, with the entire first season focused on the eight basic physiological human needs. The key ingredient of from2tv is that each segment shows a meeting of the factual and ‘serious’ with the pop cultural and traditional. The creation of this new format is helpful for us, and hopefully our audience, to grapple with some of the contradictions and strangeness of this present moment. The hosts and correspondents report earnestly on the stories at hand, but their costumes, environments, and tone echo back the absurdity of the topics: a weather report from 100 years ago, a reportage on salt water for roads, shrimps, and humans, the science of baking and the artistry of science.

With a lean production that uses a combination of life-size and miniature stage elements and costumes, from2tv is a playful framework to develop new futures and alternative perspectives on our past and present. The first episode was released in September 2025.



Research & Process:

On the Wings of Hermès from 2023 which introduced the luxury brand to a miniature world that was recorded live with an audience
Using the miniature set from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood as a reference, the world of from2tv will also be established as adjacent to our own, but not quite the same
A work from Pablo Rochat called "I robbed the mall", using simple motion tracking to apply garments to a body
The sets for public access television have a particular style that references home decor and aims for a relaxed mood 
Marcel Duchamp’s The Box in a Valise from 1935–1966 removes the mystique from art objects by making them miniature and transportable
Jacques Tati with the set of Playtime, 1967, using miniatures and optical tricks to build believable new realities
First live test of from2tv on 13. June 2024 in Basel, starring Renê Salazar and Jimena Martel Bidegan
The segments for the test included breaking news, a field correspondent, and a special guest who visited the show to make her favorite cocktail and try on a party dress.
The model that appeared in the test was constructed from a simple box and included repurposed doll house furniture.
